Train Encounter

I find Singapore to be a rather interesting country sometimes. I was on train today and there was this scene.

An Indian lady VS a Chinese lady.

I was standing at a corner near their confrontation. The Chinese lady was carrying a few bulky items such as laptop. While the Indian lady just carry a small bag.

As the train start to move, the human body will also start to move due to inertial force. Unless the human body is well-balanced, it is set to remain unbalance or at the verge of falling.

The scene started to happen when the train moves. The Chinese lady’s bag (with laptop) accidentally hit the Indian lady’s leg for a few times. Obviously the one that wasn’t hit will not know it, but the Indian lady retaliate by telling the Chinese lady off. The way she speaks was really cruel and rude.

If I was the Chinese lady, I would be scolding back at the Indian lady for giving such an unfriendly comment. Anyway, the Chinese lady was very nice. She tried to find a way to avoid further contact with the Indian lady. Unfortunately, due to the packed train, the Chinese lady was not able to find a way, thus she tried to reason out with the Indian lady in a nice way. After that we found out that the Indian lady was having a leg injury that is why she was kind of rude on first hand.

Singapore can be a courteous country if we try. It is just that we are too pissed off by the high cost life and also the fast paced change in life. Next time, when you are involved in an ugly matter, try to end it in the most courteous way.
